Are you looking for creative ways to assess your teaching practice in your General Education courses and connect with your peers? Teaching Shapes may be just what you need!
Teaching Shapes is an initiative in which small groups of faculty visit each others classes, share formative feedback, and reflect on their own teaching practices. Teaching Shapes provides a way for fostering an interdisciplinary culture and building a stronger community. Your observations are confidential, but you can incorporate things you learned about your teaching practices from these observations in your annual Self-Assessment. The process does not require a major time commitment and is usually completed within six weeks.
If you are interested in learning more about Teaching Shapes or have any other questions, please contact gened@psu.edu. This program is offered through the collaborative efforts of the Office for General Education and the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence.
