General Education Faculty Scholars

The General Education Faculty Scholars build the capacity of faculty to use educational change initiatives to advance greater intentionality in curricular and course design, learning outcomes and assessment, and high-impact teaching and learning practices in general education. There are sixteen General Education Faculty Scholars representing the various campuses, colleges, and General Education areas at Penn State. Scholars are compensated with summer supplemental pay and typically will serve three year terms.

We are currently accepting applications for the 2024-2025 Academic Year. For this application cycle, we are looking for 5 new General Education Scholars to represent various parts of the University: 1 faculty member each from University Park representing the Arts, the Humanities, and the Writing and Speaking categories of General Education; Penn State Altoona; and Penn State Behrend.
